HMAS Parramatta (DE 46) The third HMAS Parramatta (F 05/DE 46) was a River class destroyer escort (a licence-built Type 12 frigate) laid down by the Cockatoo Island Dockyard at Sydney in New South Wales on 31 January 1957, launched on 31 January 1959 by Lady Dowling, wife of the First Naval Member and Chief of Naval Staff, and commissioned on 14 July 1961 under the command of Commander G. R.
HMAS Parramatta (U 44) HMAS Parramatta (U 44), the second ship to bear that name, was a Grimsby class sloop of the Royal Australian Navy that served during World War II. She was laid down on 9 November 1938 at the Cockatoo Island Dockyard at Sydney in New South Wales.

HMAS Platypus (1917) HMAS Platypus was a submarine depot ship built for the Royal Navy by John Brown and Company at Clydebank in Scotland, launched on 28 October 1916 and commissioned on 21 March 1917. The ship was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy and commissioned on 25 March 1919.
HMAS Psyche HMAS Psyche was a Pelorus class cruiser laid down for the Royal Navy as HMS Psyche by HM Devonport Dockyard at Plymouth in 1897, launched on 19 July 1898 and completed in 1900. She was transferred to Australia and commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy on 1 July 1915.

HMAS Rockhampton HMAS Rockhampton (J-203/M-203), named for the city of Rockhampton in Queensland, was a Bathurst class corvette built by Walkers Limited at Maryborough in Queensland, launched on 26 June 1941 and commissioned on 21 January 1942. HMAS Rockhampton paid off to reserve on 5 August 1946, was sold on 6 January 1961 and departed Australia for Japan under tow by the tug Benton Maru in 1962.
HMAS Salamaua (L-131) HMAS Salamaua (L-131) was a Balikpapan class LCH built by Walkers Limited at Maryborough in Queensland, launched on 27 July 1972 and commissioned on 19 October 1973. HMAS Salamaua was transferred to the Papua New Guinea Defence Force on 14 November 1974.

HMAS Success is the largest ship to ever be built in Australia for the Royal Australian Navy and is the largest ship to be built in Port Jackson (the port of Sydney).
HMAS Supply HMAS Supply (AO-195) was a Tide class fleet oiler laid down by Harland and Wolff Limited at Belfast in Northern Ireland on 5 August 1952, launched on 1 September 1954 and operated by the British Admiralty with a civilian crew as the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Tide Austral. The ship was purchased by the Royal Australian Navy and commissioned as HMAS Tide Austral at Southampton on 15 August 1962, but was renamed HMAS Supply at Portsmouth on 7 September 1962 by Mrs.
HMAS Swan (D-61) The first HMAS Swan (D-61) was a River class torpedo boat destroyer laid down by the Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company Propriety Limited at Sydney in New South Wales on 22 January 1913, launched on 11 December 1915 by Lady Creswell, wife of Sir William Rooke Creswell, the First Naval Member of the Commonwealth Naval Board and commissioned on 16 August 1916. HMAS Swan paid off for disposal at Sydney on 15 May 1928 and was broken up for scrap at Cockatoo Dockyard in 1930.

HMAS Swan (U 74) HMAS Swan (U 74, later F 74, later A 427), the second ship to bear that name, was a Grimsby class sloop of the Royal Australian Navy that served during World War II. She was laid down by the Cockatoo Island Dockyard at Sydney in New South Wales on 1 May 1935, launched on 28 March 1936 and commissioned on 21 January 1937.
HMAS Swordsman HMAS Swordsman (H-11) was an S class destroyer laid down by Scott’s Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Limited, at Greenock in Scotland in 1918, launched on 28 December 1918, completed in 1919, transferred to the Royal Australian Navy in July 1919 and commissioned as HMAS Swordsman on 27 January 1920. HMAS Sydney (1912) The first HMAS Sydney was a Chatham class light cruiser of the Royal Australian Navy. Its crew made history in 1914, during World War I, when Sydney took part in the RAN's first ship against ship battle, the Battle of Cocos.

HMAS Tobruk Two ships of the Royal Australian Navy have been named HMAS Tobruk after the town of Tobruk in Libya, captured from the Italians by Australian and other allied forces in January 1941 and besieged by the Germans from April to October 1941.

HMAS Tobruk (L 50) HMAS Tobruk (L 50) is a Landing Ship Heavy (LSH) of the Royal Australian Navy, based on the design of the "Sir" class of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Tobruk was the first purpose built amphibious vessel in the RAN, and is designed as a multi-purpose, ro-ro heavy lift and transport vessel - the ship can be loaded via ramps at both the bow and stern, and can be purposely beached.
HMAS Toowoomba (FFH 156) The second ship to bear the name, HMAS Towoomba (FFH 156) is an Anzac class frigate, laid down by Tenix Defence Systems at Williamstown in Victoria on 26 July 2002, launched on 16 May 2003 by Ms Judy Blight and commissioned on 8 October 2005.
HMAS Torrens (D-67) The first HMAS Torrens was a "River" class torpedo boat destroyer laid down by the Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company Propriety Limited at Sydney in New South Wales on 25 January 1913, launched on 28 August 1915 by Lady Helen Munro-Ferguson, wife of the Governor-General and commissioned on 3 July 1916. HMAS Torrens paid off into reserve on 19 July 1920 and was based on Westernport for Royal Australian Navy Reserve Training from June 1924 to mid March 1925.
HMAS Torrens (DE 53) The second HMAS Torrens (DE 53) was a River class destroyer escort laid down by the Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company Propriety Limited at Sydney in New South Wales on 18 August 1965, launched on 28 September 1968 by Dame Zara Holt, DBE, and commissioned on 19 January 1971.
HMAS Townsville (FCPB 205) The second HMAS Townsville (P 205) is a Fremantle class patrol boat laid down by the North Queensland Engineers and Agents at Cairns in Queensland on 5 March 1979, launched on 16 May 1981 and commissioned on 18 July 1981.
HMAS Una HMAS Una was a Royal Australian Navy sloop that began its life as the German motor launch Komet. The Una was captured by an infantry detachment of the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force lead by John Paton on 9 October 1914.
HMAS Vampire (D11) HMAS Vampire (D11) was the third of three Australian-built Daring-class destroyers serving in the Royal Australian Navy. She was laid down by the Cockatoo Island Dockyard at Sydney in New South Wales on 1 July 1952, launched on 27 October 1956 and commissioned on 23 June 1959.
HMAS Vendetta (D08) The second HMAS Vendetta(DD-08) was a Daring-class destroyer laid down by the Williamstown Dockyard at Melbourne in Victoria on 4 July 1950, launched on 3 May 1954 and commissioned on 26 November 1958. Vendetta was the only Daring class ship in the RAN to see service in the Vietnam War.
HMAS Vendetta (D69) The first HMAS Vendetta (D-69/I-69) was a V class destroyer laid down by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Limited, at Govan in Scotland on 25 November 1916, launched on 3 September 1917, completed on 17 October 1917 and commissioned into the Royal Navy, transferred to the Royal Australian Navy and commissioned as HMAS Vendetta at Portsmouth on 11 October 1933. Vendetta departed for Australia on 17 October 1933 and arrived in Sydney on 21 December 1933, paid off into reserve on 31 January 1934, recommissioned on 10 October 1934 but paid off into reserve on 1 June 1938, recommissioned on 29 September 1938, and served in the Mediterranean where she participated in the Battle of Cape Matapan and was involved in the evacuation of Greece in April 1941.
HMAS Voyager (D04) The second HMAS Voyager (D-04) was a Daring class destroyer laid down by the Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company Limited at Sydney in New South Wales on 10 October 1949, launched on 1 May 1952 by Dame Pattie Menzies, wife of the Prime Minister, and commissioned on 12 February 1957. Voyager collided with the aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne twenty miles south-east of Jervis Bay on the New South Wales coast on the night of 10 February 1964.
HMAS Wallaroo HMAS Wallaroo (J-222), named for the marsupial of the same name, was a Bathurst class corvette laid down by Poole and Steel Limited at Sydney in New South Wales on 24 April 1941, launched on February 18 1942 by Mrs Poole, wife of the Chairman of Directors, Poole and Steel Ltd and commissioned on July 15 1942.
HMAS Warrego (D-70) The first HMAS Warrego was a River class destroyer laid down by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company Limited at Govan in Scotland, then taken to pieces and the parts shipped out to Cockatoo Dockyard, Sydney, where they were re-assembled. Launched 4 April 1911 and commissioned on 1 June 1912.
HMAS Warrego (U73) HMAS Warrego (U 73, initially L 73), the second ship to bear that name, was a Grimsby class sloop of the Royal Australian Navy that served during World War II. She was laid down by the Cockatoo Island Dockyard at Sydney in New South Wales on 10 May 1939, launched 10 February 1940, completed 21 August 1940.
HMAS Warrnambool (J 202) The first HMAS Warrnambool was a Bathurst class corvette laid down by Mort’s Dock and Engineering Co Ltd of Sydney on the 13 November 1940, launched on 8 May 1941, by Mrs Simpson, wife of a Director of Mort’s Dock and Engineering Co Ltd and commissioned later that year. HMAS Warrnambool served during World War II and was mainly involved in troop transport, rescue missions and anti-submarine patrols.
HMAS Waterhen (D22) HMAS Waterhen (D-22/I-22) was a V class destroyer laid down by Palmers Shipbuilding and Engineering Company at Jarrow-on-Tyne on 3 July 1917, launched on 23 March 1918, completed on 17 July 1918 and commissioned into the Royal Navy, transferred to the Royal Australian Navy at Portsmouth on 11 October 1933 and commissioned as HMAS Waterhen.
HMAS Westralia (1939) The first HMAS Westralia was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Glasgow for the Huddart Parker company as a twin screw motor vessel, being completed in 1929. Westralia was requisitioned for war service by the Australian government in 1939 as an armed merchant cruiser.
HMAS Westralia (O 195) HMAS Westralia (O 195) is a modified Leaf-class replenishment oiler which served with the Royal Australian Navy from 1989 to 2006. The ship was leased from the United Kingdom, where it had previously served with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as RFA Appleleaf.
