Harzburgite



The ultramafic rock, harzburgite, is a variety of peridotite consisting of the minerals, olivine and low-Ca pyroxene (enstatite), and named for occurrences in the Harz Mountains of Germany. It commonly contains a few percent chromium-rich spinel as an accessory mineral.
