Heinrich Stölzel



Heinrich Stölzel (1777-1844) was a horn player who developed some of the first valves for brass instruments. He developed the first valve for a brass instrument, the Stölzel valve, in 1814, and went on to develop various other designs, some jointly with other inventor musicians.
