Hawton
Hawton is a civil parish of some 70 inhabitants, and is situated to the south of Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire, near the River Devon. It played an important part in the English Civil War as a Roundhead encampment against the Royalist stonghold in Newark, and a redoubt earthworks are still visible within the village.
