Health care markets

Health care is a significant economic activity, accounting for between 7 and 15 per cent of GDP in most developed countries. The provision of health care involves complex interactions between direct public provision of health services, competitive market provision and a range of intermediate arrangements such as publicly-subsidised health insurance.
