Hector Hyppolite
Hector Hyppolite (1894 - 1948) was a Haitian painter. Born in Saint-Marc, Hyppolite worked as a house painter and was a Vodou priest, or houngan, before his talent as an artist was noticed by Philippe Thoby-Marcelin and DeWitt Peters in 1945.
