Health Council of Canada
The Prime Minister and the Premiers accepted the advice of the Kirby Report, The Health of Canadians - the Federal Role, (October 2002) and the Romanow Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada (November 2002). Both reports identified the value of an independent council informing Canadians on health care matters while promoting accountability and transparency.
