Haslar
Haslar is the name of the area at the southern tip of Gosport, Hampshire which takes its name from two Anglo-Saxon words: haesel, meaning hazel, and ora, meaning bank. It was a bank of hazel strewn on marshy grounds around the creek to make it passable and habitable in olden times that gave it it's name .
