Haibane Renmei
is a set of original dĹŤjinshi written and illustrated by Yoshitoshi ABe, which was adapted into a 13-episode anime series based on those books, which was broadcast by the anime television network, Animax, in its respective networks around the world, including Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent, under the title Ailes Grises. Both series follow a young girl named Rakka, a newly arrived haibane (an angelic-looking being), and other characters in the city of Glie (guri), a walled city with one entrance where no one is allowed to leave.
