Hans Henric von Essen
Count Hans Henrik von Essen (1755 - 1824) was a Swedish soldier and statesman, born at KaiĂĄs, West Gotland. He was educated in the State University at Upsala, then entered the army, a cornet at 18, and accompanied Gustavus III in his travels and campaigns.
