Hawaii's 1st congressional district
The First Congressional District of Hawaii was officially established in 1971, defined as a result of a United States Census Bureau report of the previous year indicating an increase in the population of the state of Hawaii. The district encompasses the urban areas administered by the City & County of Honolulu, concentrated in the central plains and southern shores of the island of Oahu including the towns of Aiea, Mililani, Pearl City, Waipahu and Waimalu.
