Heliobacteria
The heliobacteria are a small family of bacteria that produce energy through photosynthesis. The primary pigment involved is bacteriochlorophyll g, which is unique to the group and absorbs at different frequencies than other photosynthetic pigments, giving the heliobacteria their own environmental niche.
