Hércules Florence



Antoine Hercule Romuald Florence (1804-1879) was a French-Brazilian painter and inventor, who became famous for being the isolate inventor of photography (which he named "photographie" six years before John Herschel) in Brazil, three years before Daguerre, using the matrix negative/positive, still in use.
