Heinrich event
Heinrich events, named for paleoclimatologist Hartmut Heinrich, are abrupt episodes during the last glacial. Their principal "footprint" is in layers of ice-rafted detritus at intervals in sediment cores from the North Atlantic, but other indications are seen near-globally.
