Hatschek's pit
In the lancelet Hatschek's pit, also called Hatschek’s nephridium, is an unpaired kidney whose duct opens into the anterior pharynx. It can be seen as a deep ciliated fossa on the dorsal midline of the buccal cavity (mouth).
