Indostan

Indostan, or as it used to be called, the 'Indostanic Peninsula', is the former name of the region in South Asia comprised of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and the Himalayan states Bhutan and Nepal. Their collective historical background may be spoken of as “the Indian Civilization”, and sets these countries apart from the rest of the Asian continent.
