Independent Monitoring Board
Independent Monitoring Boards (IMB) are statutory bodies whose purpose is to monitor the welfare of prisoners and immigration detainees in the UK and to ensure that they are properly cared for whilst in custody and detention. Every Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) and Prison in the UK is monitored by an IMB.
