Ildefons CerdĂ
Ildefons Cerdà i Sunyer (in Catalan) or Ildefonso Cerdá Suñer (in Spanish) (December 23, 1815 - August 21, 1876) was the progressive Catalan urban planner who designed the 19th-century "extension" of Barcelona called Eixample (in Catalan) or Ensanche (in Spanish).
