*October 2, 2006: Charles Carl Roberts IV, a 32-year-old milk truck driver, barricades West Nickel Mines School, an Amish schoolhouse and holds the female students as hostages. Five girls between the ages of 7 and 12 are shot and killed as well as the killer himself.
