Ieremia Tabai
Ieremia Tienang Tabai (born 1950) was the first president of Kiribati. He served as chief minister of that country from 1978 until it gained complete independence in 1979, and then served as president from 1979 until 1991, with a short interruption from 1982 until 1983.
