Jagannath Temple (Puri)



The Jagannath Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath (a form of Lord Vishnu) located in the coastal town of Puri in the state of Orissa, India. The main deity Jagannath is an important form of Lord Vishnu (Jagat means Universe and Nath means The Lord in Sanskrit) and the temple is an important pilgrimage destination for the Hindus, particularly the followers of the Vaishnava tradition.
