Jack Judge
Jack Judge (1878-1938) was born in Oldbury, Worcestershire and is possibly best remembered for the song: It's a Long Way to Tipperary, a song that he allegedly wrote for a 5 shilling bet in Stalybridge, Cheshire on the 30 January 1912 and performed the next night at the local music hall. Many people, including the Judge family dispute this and say the song was written in his home town of Oldbury.
