Mary Virginia "Ginnie" Wade Her name is commonly misspelled "Jenny" or "Jennie" Wade due to a typo in the newsspaper. (May 21, 1843 – July 3, 1863), a seamstress, was the only Gettysburg citizen killed during the Battle of Gettysburg.
