In the Book of Mormon, Jacob (Hebrew יעקב Yaʿăqōḇ "Holder of the heel; supplanter") is a younger brother of the prophet Nephi, and becomes the prophet himself after Nephi's death. The Book of Jacob is purportedly written by him
