Jack Vance
John Holbrook Vance (born August 28, 1916 in San Francisco, California; other birthdates, between 1916 and 1920, have also been inaccurately cited) is generally described as an American fantasy and science fiction author, though Vance himself has reportedly objected to such labels. Most of his work has been published under the name Jack Vance.
