James D. Watson
James Dewey Watson KBE(Hon) ForMemRS (born April 6, 1928) is an American scientist, best known as one of the four discoverers of the structure of the DNA molecule. Watson, Francis Crick, and Maurice Wilkins were awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, for their discoveries concerning the molecular structure of nucleic acids and its significance for information transfer in living material, with the help of the research of Rosalind Franklin, who also received the honor of National Medal of Science in 1997.
