Japanese history textbook controversies
The Japanese history textbook controversies is a series of controversies over government-approved history textbooks used in the secondary education (junior high schools and high schools) of Japan. The controversies primarily concern the constitutionality of the government authorization system itself and the textbook descriptions of the wars, war crimes, and imperialism conducted by Imperial Japan during the first half of the 20th century.
