Königsplatz, Munich



The Königsplatz (King's square) is a square in the inner city of Munich and together with the Karolinenplatz a part of the Brienner Strasse, one of four royal avenues. The square was designed at the command of Ludwig I of Bavaria by Karl von Fischer and laid out by Leo von Klenze with the "Doric" Propyläen and the "Ionic" Glyptothek.
