Kedah Sultanate
The ruler of Kedah is the first person in the Malay Peninsula to accept Islam back in the year 1136 CE. According to the Kedah Annals, King Phra Ong Mahawangsa the 9th ruler of Kedah which is a region in Malaysia, ruled the region from 1136 to 1179 known as the Kedah Sultanate.
