Khorugv

Khorugv (, sometimes translated as Gonfalon) in Eastern Orthodoxy is a relgious banner or some other flag, whose cloth is attached to a short pole, which is in its turn attached horizontally to a long vertical pole. As a result, the cloth flies vertically, rather than horizontally.
