Katsu Kaishū
Katsu KaishĹ« (勝 ćµ·čź Awa Katsu; KaishĹ«; Rintaro; Yoshikuni 1823-99) was a Japanese naval officer and statesman during the Late Tokugawa shogunate and the Meiji period. KaishĹ« was a nickname which he took from a piece of calligraphy (KaishĹ« Shooku ćµ·čźć›¸ĺ±‹) by Sakuma ShĹŤzan.
