Karl Georg Christian von Staudt
Karl Georg Christian von Staudt (January 24 1798 – June 1 1867) was a German mathematician born in the Imperial Free City of Rothenburg, which is now called Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germany. He studied at the University of Göttingen from 1818 to 1822 and received a doctorate from Erlangen based on his work in determining the orbit of a comet.
