Kingdom of Janjero The Kingdom of Janjero (also known as Yamma) was tiny kingdom located in what is now Ethiopia. It lay in the angle formed by the Omo and the Jimma Gibe Rivers; to the west lay the Kingdom of Jimma and to the south the Kingdom of Garo.

Kings of Dublin The Vikings invaded the territory around Dublin (Dubh Linn; "Black Pool") in the ninth century, establishing the Norse Kingdom of Dublin. This corresponded to most of present-day County Dublin. Norse Rulers of Dublin were often co-kings, and occasionally also Kings of Jorvik in what is now England. The region was known to the Vikings as Dyflin, pronounced "dyoov-lin" (in either Old Norse or Modern Norwegian). The English later took Old Irish "Dubh Linn" and collapsed it to the modern "Dublin".

Kings of Hy-Many Hy-Many was the name of a kingdom situated in south Connacht, consisting of all of County Galway east of Athenry, all of southern and central County Roscommon. In prehistory it was believed to have spanned the Shannon, and in the 8th Century even briefly extended its dominion west to Galway Bay.

Kings of Tara The title King of Tara represented a very old ideal of sacred kingship in Ireland, imbued with mythical aura stretching back deep into the long-forgotten past, even from the perspective of its earliest historical holders. For these reasons holding the title King of Tara invested the incumbent to a powerful status, at least in the northern half of Ireland, perhaps as an almost totally forgotten tradition of a sacred king of kings, barely remembered yet retained by unknowing tradition.
