Kappa effect
The Kappa effect describes the perception that in a journey of two parts taking an equal amount of time, the leg which covers more distance appears to take longer than the other. The related Tau effect describes the perception that in a journey of two equidistant parts, the leg which takes longer appears to cover more distance than the other.
