Landsturm



The Landsturm was partially the Prussian and Austrian equivalent of the levée en masse, or general levy of all men capable of bearing arms and not included in the other regularly organized forces, standing army or its second line formations, of Continental nations. It was introduced in Prussia in 1813, ended in 1918, and never played a a role in German military history.
