Law of State Responsibility

The Law of State Responsibility is concerned with the imputation of acts to State parties in the context of international law. For example, a question of state responsibility may revolve around whether the act of an organ of the state can be imputed to the state, or whether an official acting outside of their authority can breach treaties that will lead to the State being found responsible.
