Laser applications
The benefits of lasers in various applications stems from their properties such as coherency, high monochromaticity, and ability to reach extremely high powers. For instance, a highly coherent laser beam can be focused down to its diffraction limit, which at visible wavelengths is only a few hundred nanometers.
