Megachile The genus Megachile is a cosmopolitan group of solitary bees, and is the only genus within the family Megachilidae which truly deserves to be called leafcutter bees, as certain species of only this genus build their nest cells from neatly cut pieces of petals or leaves, this behavior otherwise being unknown in the family (other genera, and other species within Megachile, chew leaves or petals into fragments, or use resins or other materials to build their nests). Nests are sometimes constructed within hollow twigs or other similarly constricted natural cavities, but often are in burrows in the ground.
Megachilidae The Megachilidae are a cosmopolitan family of (mostly) solitary bees whose pollen-carrying structures (called scopae) are restricted to the ventral surface of the abdomen (rather than on the hind legs like in all other bee families). Megatripolis Megatripolis was an innovative London nightclub created by Encyclopaedia Psychedelica editor and founding Zippie Fraser ClarkRaynolds, Simon "Energy Flash", page 287 Picardor 1998 in collaboration with Sionaidh Craigen and other members of the evolution collective and Peter 'Bugsy' Mosse and JJ of Dream Records. The intention was to combine New Age ideology with Rave culture and create a vibrant, festival-like atmosphere where people would be confronted by cross-cultural ideas and experiences at every turn.
