Marine hatchetfish
Marine hatchetfish are small, deep-sea bathypelagic fish of the family Sternoptychidae, together with bottlelights, pearlsides and constellationfish. They should not be confused with the freshwater hatchetfish, an unrelated family (Gasteropelecidae) of characins.
