Margaret Haley



Margaret Haley (1861–1939), the teacher and unionist dubbed the "lady labor slugger," was born in Joliet, Illinois on November 15 1861 to immigrant parents of Irish descent; her mother came from Ireland and her father from Canada. For the first six years of her life she lived on a farm.
