Magnus Heinason
Magnus Heinason (1545) - (18 Jan, 1589), was a Faroese and a son of Heine havrèkke a Norse priest that emigrated to the islands, a naval hero, trader and privateer. He was given the trading rights to the Faroe Islands by Frederik II, King of Denmark from 1559 to 1588 and he built the first fortifications in Torshavn.
