Nauman Scott
Nauman Steele Scott, II (June 15, 1916 - September 19, 2001), was a Republican-appointed federal judge in the Western District of Louisiana from 1970 until 2001, who ordered cross-parish busing guidelines in 1980 to foster racial balance in Rapides Parish public schools. Because of his active fight against lingering remnants of segregation, Judge Scott has often been compared to two other Republican federal judges in similar circumstances, John Minor Wisdom (1905-1999) of New Orleans and Frank M.
