National Institute for Latino Policy
The National Institute for Latino Policy (NiLP) was established in 1982 as the Institute for Puerto Rican Policy (IPR) in New York City as a nonprofit and nonpartisan policy center focusing on critical Latino policy issues. Between 1999 and 2005, the Institute entered into a strategic alliance with the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund (PRLDEF) during which it functioned as the Fund’s policy research arm.
