Neuropoiesis
Neuropoiesis is the process by which conditionally non-specific cells, classically neural stem cells, differentiate into neurons or glia (not microglia which are proposed to have a monocytic or macrophage-like origin). The mechanisms involved are numerous and not completely understood.
