Nano-optics
Nano-optics is the branch of optical engineering which deals with optics at deeply subwavelength length scales. Technologies in the realm of nano-optics include near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM), photoassisted scanning tunnelling microscopy, and surface plasmon optics.
