Natural transfer hypothesis
The natural transfer hypothesis, in reference to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, states that humans first received HIV by contact with or the eating of or sexual contact with primates and becoming contaminated with simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). The contrasting hypothesis is the oral polio vaccine (OPV) AIDS hypothesis.
