Neo-Taino

Neo-TaĂno are the pre-Colombian indigenous Amerindian inhabitants of Cuba, the Lucaya of the Bahamas, Jamaica, and to a lesser extent of Haiti and Quisqueya (approximately the Dominican Republic) as opposed to the TaĂno of Boriquen (Puerto Rico). Some scholars consider it important to distinguish the neo-TaĂno nations from the original TaĂno, since the neo-TaĂno had far more diverse cultural input and a greater societal and ethnic heterogeneity than the original TaĂno.
