National Computer Security Center
The National Computer Security Center, part of the National Security Agency, was established in 1981 and is responsible for testing and evaluating computer equipment for use in high security and/or confidential applications. NCSC is responsible for publishing the Orange Book and Red Book detailing trusted computing and network platform specifications.
