Operation Dropshot
Operation Dropshot was the United States Military code-name for an internal document describing a possible defensive, conventional war with the USSR in the post-WWII period more commonly known as The Cold War. The scenario was devised prior to the development of ICBMs, and even included the note that the entire plan would be invalidated if rocketry became a cheap and effective means of delivering a nuclear weapon.
