Optical Burst Switching



Optical Burst Switching (OBS) is an experimental switching paradigm representing an intermediate solution between circuit (wavelength) and packet switching in optical networks. Its purpose is to dynamically provision sub-wavelength granularity by optimally combining electronics and optics.
